Te Whatu Ora -Waitematā Research Governance Group approved the use of Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap), a free web-based application developed by Vanderbilt University, to create databases for the capture of data for research and related projects.

Waitematā staff can access REDCap [here](https://redcap-wdhb.hanz.health.nz/) by logging in with their Waitematā network login to access help guides and videos from within the tool. The use of Waitematā REDCap for research purposes is subject to the related research being granted locality authorisation.

The terms of use for the Waitematā REDCap are available [here](https://projectredcap.org/partners/termsofuse/) and for any enquires please contact [Hamish Neave](mailto:Hamish.Neave@waitematadhb.govt.nz), Research and Design Specialist/Biostatistical Adviser.

### [Qualitative research analysis tool (NVivo) ](https://clinicaldecisions.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/Research/pages/106102794/Quantitative+research+analysis+tool+NVIVD)

NVivo is qualitative data analysis software that assists researchers in organising, exploring, and interpreting qualitative data to gain deeper insights and identify patterns and themes.

### <span style="color: #0747a6">Research audit database</span>

This platform has been developed to assist Te Whatu Ora -Waitematā staff to collect data as part of research and audit activity. The data is stored securely in the Waitematā data warehouse. All research and audit activity at Waitematā must obtain [Locality Authorisation](https://research.refined.site/space/Research/144244737/Approval+process) before commencing. Many of the scheduled nursing audits, allied health audits and over 40 other projects (including randomised clinical trials) have used the research database to collate their data. If you would like to create or access a database, contact [Hamish Neave](mailto:Hamish.Neave@waitematadhb.govt.nz), Research and Design Specialist/Biostatistical Adviser.

**Where to login**: Staff with patient-level access to Clinical Portal can access their databases via the '*Research Database*' icon found in the '*Applications*' menu in Clinical Portal. If you do not have a Clinical Portal login, the databases can be accessed [via this web browser](https://wdhb-web-apps.healthcare.huarahi.health.govt.nz/research/login.asp), once you have been provided a username and password.
